What We Do

Three Ways We Can Help

Each service is approached with patience and attention to the individual piece, not a production schedule.

Dial & Hand Refurbishment

A sympathetic refresh focused on legibility and preserving the original feel of the watch. Work is carried out where existing conditions allow.

  • Dial surface cleaning and stabilisation

Why Brasswind

A Quieter Kind of Workshop

A few things that shape how work is done here, for anyone who wants to know before making contact.

Each Watch Assessed Individually

No standard job sheets or preset packages. Each piece is looked at on its own terms before any recommendation is made.

Written Reports on Request

For assessment work especially, a clear written document is provided — useful for insurance purposes or for keeping a record with the piece.

Originality Where Possible

The aim is to improve function and presentation without erasing what makes older watches interesting. Replacement parts are used only when genuinely needed.

Clear Communication

You will know what is being done and why before work begins. Questions during the process are always welcome.

Central Bangkok Location

Located in Bang Rak on Charoen Krung Road — accessible from the BTS and river ferry, with space to drop off and discuss the piece in person.

Honest Timelines

Turnaround times are given based on actual current workload, not a number chosen to impress. Work is not rushed to meet an optimistic estimate.

Questions

Things People Often Ask

Do I need to bring the watch in person, or can I post it?
Either works. Many clients drop the piece off at the workshop on Charoen Krung Road. If you are posting from outside Bangkok, get in touch first so we can discuss packaging and ensure the piece arrives safely.
How long does a typical service take?
Dial and hand work usually takes two to three weeks. Rotor service is typically similar. Heritage assessments are often completed within ten working days. All timelines depend on current workload and will be confirmed at the time of drop-off or enquiry.
Can I get a cost estimate before committing?
Yes. The prices listed for each service are the base starting point. If additional work is identified after inspection, this is discussed with you before anything proceeds. You are never committed until you agree to the scope.
What happens if the assessment finds significant problems?
The Heritage Piece Assessment ends with a written report and recommendations. There is no obligation to proceed with any further work. The report is yours to keep and can be useful for other watchmakers or for insurance documentation.
Do you work on all watch brands?
The focus is on mechanical and automatic movements. Swiss, Japanese, and European makes are all regularly handled. If you are unsure whether your piece is suitable, a brief description by email is usually enough to give you a clear answer.
Is my watch kept securely while it is with you?
Pieces are logged on arrival with a brief condition note and stored in a locked cabinet when not being worked on. A receipt is provided at drop-off. The workshop is not left unattended during working hours.
